Experience
I have over 30 years experience teaching and tutoring math. I've been a private tutor, taught middle school math, worked as a teaching assistant at a university, taught both public and private high school, and most recently was an adjunct instructor at a community college. Tutoring one-on-one is a joy for me because I see right away and up close that "aha!" moment that students experience. I realize not everyone learns in the same way and that is especially true for math. I work until I say it in just the right way for a student to understand the problem in front of them. I can teach tips and tricks and give anyone the confidence they need. I understand the fear many people have when it comes to math. It's not a lack of ability, it's just a case of not knowing (yet!) the right approach and that pathway is often blocked by past bad experience in math. With my sense of humor, patience, and caring temperament, I can help students get beyond past experiences and be successful.
